Create your own Andy Warhol inspired Pop Art Portrait in this iPad #QuickLesson

👋 Introduction:

For this Quick iPad Lesson we'll learn how to use Keynote to trace over a selfie and then we'll use some clever techniques to transform this pencil drawing into a vivid and vibrant Pop Art Self Portrait, inspired by artists such as Andy Warhol. 

🎥 Structure:

This tutorial is easy to follow and is guaranteed to create some fun (and colourful!) outcomes by the end. There are five places to pause the video and work along at your own pace.

Feel free to explore the tutorial yourself and then deliver the lesson to your class, or if you'd rather than it works just as well with your and your class following along with me together.

📗 Curriculum Links:

This QuickLesson sits ideally in a unit of learning about Andy Warhol, Pop Art or Digital Art. There is also a nice element of 'Self' which could be used as an Identity based lesson or a Reflection activity.

⏰ Timings:

I'd suggest allowing an hour to complete this tutorial. Younger learners may find it takes slightly longer, but the level of detail can be adapted to their skill-set. If any learners wish they can create a 3x2 grid or a 3x3 grid to include more colourful of their portraits.

✏️ Resources:

You will need an iPad and ideally a drawing tool of some kind - i.e. a Logitech Crayon or an Apple Pencil. We use the Keynote app and the Camera to grab a quick selfie at the beginning.
