Such a sweet poem. I always planned to do a color poem with Clips, but never got to do it with students. Super use of Clips.

Clips and Poetry
I have been doing this project with my students for a few years, and they always enjoy it. I wanted to make the poetry come to life, and in the past I had the students use Keynote to visualize a poem as they read it. But I discovered how Clips can transform how a student interprets a verse.
The benefits of using Clips:
- Can include pictures and/or video
- Live titles is an excellent accessibility tool for students with hearing issues
- Soundtrack can change the feel of the poem. Music can help the students in their interpretation of the poem.
- Narration of the poem
Clips is an easy and powerful tool, making the poetry units fun and enjoyable for the students.
This is a sample project from a group of my students. The poem is by Jacqueline Woodson.

Hi!
Great idea and I'm going to try to use it but I do have one question:
Where do you have the students search for the pictures they use?
My District doesn't allow students free access to images online, even if they're on a Creative Commons website like Photos for Class or Openverse? It tends to be very hit or miss for some reason.
This is a great project idea and I can't wait to try it out with my students. I'm a virtual teacher and teach 4th and 5th grade ELA and our next unit is about poetry, so I'm excited to see what my students create. Thanks for the inspiration, and I really enjoyed your sample project! :)
This is a great way to make poetry come to life. What age group do you teach?
