Thanks, Cheryl. It is a great way to connect people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.

Welcome Back to School!
Welcome to the Class of 2022
Starting a new school year generally means we need to start new relationships. To fast-track the getting-to-know-you period, I give my students the following resource (attached). It means that, at a glance, you can see their hobbies and interests. Then once you've got that picture into their world, they can dig a bit deeper and give a brief summary of their strengths and weaknesses. But, relationships work both ways, so I model the activity by filling in my own virtual locker. Giving students a glimpse into my own life forms the basis for a positive working relationship.

Pepeha
In addition, because I live in New Zealand, we start the year off by doing our pepeha. A pepeha is a way of introducing yourself. It will usually follow a set format and identifies who we are, where we're from and where we belong. Pepeha is used in a Māori context, but the idea of making ourselves known to others is universal.
Feel free to take this attached Keynote and adapt it to the needs of your own students.

This is a great resource and I love how you include the Maori culture into your teaching.
Thanks for the feedback JJ!
Tēnei te mihi ki a koe e te whaea. Pai tō mahi pepeha me ā koutou mahi katoa.

I love this!
I may use it for my staff as a "get to know you" project 🤔 💜
