App Prototype with Keynote

Keynote is an amazing and versatile app. Recently, I created a template to show other teachers how it could be used for app prototyping with students of all ages. Here are the steps I used to create my template, and a copy of my app prototype on animals.

  1. I opened a keynote document on my mac and then changed the size of the document to look like an iPhone. I used custom (330 x 667) for my slide size.
  2. Next, using the shapes tool, I created what looked like an iPhone background.
  3. Next, I designed the front of my "app" using the shapes in keynote and some text.
  4. The final step after putting your content on each slide is to "link" the pages.
  5. When you hit "play" your keynote file will simulate an app and you can click through the various pages.

Love this for our students! We adapted it for ecosystems. The teacher also adds the Must Do and May Do in the speaker notes! Thanks for sharing!
