Creating Your Community Profile

Stand out in the Forum and make connections with fellow members by creating a robust Community profile.

1. Find and edit your profile.

Tap “Profile” from your avatar at the top-right of any page. From your profile, tap the “Edit profile” button just under your user name.

2. Edit your profile image.

Upload a new image file to display. Square images are recommended. Non-square images will be cropped.

3. Edit your name preferences.

Your Display Name is associated with your Apple Account; you can update this via the Apple Account link. If you’d like to show your name across the Community, tap the “Show on profile” toggle.

You can also update your user name. Remember, user names can use letters, numbers, underscores, and dashes. Don’t include your first and last name, profanity, personal information, or more than four consecutive numbers (like 1234).

4. Edit your professional information.

You can add your job title and information about your institution. You can add as much information as you’d like, but the more information you include, the easier it will be for similar educators to find and follow you. You can also include a brief biography, your educational philosophy, and information about the subjects and ages you teach.

5. Edit your contact preferences.

Your Community account is linked to your Apple Account, and that’s the email address where you’ll receive official messages and notifications from Apple. If you’d like to provide a different email address for Community members to contact you, you can enter it in the “Contact” section. You can also add links to your other social media profiles or  professional websites.

6. Edit your Recognitions.

Any Apple program recognitions you’ve earned will be listed here. You can tap the toggle to show these recognitions on your profile. You can also add up to five non-Apple recognitions you have earned.

7. Save your changes.

Tap “Save changes” to update your profile and “View your profile” to return to it.
