Goods & Resources Movement GIF

Original Lesson

Our original lesson took place in the Movement topic of the Introduction to Geography unit. The goal was to for students to explore how what level of movement of goods and ideas are behind the products we use everyday.

How did we transform?

Using Keynote to create animated GIFs instead of drawing static arrows on a map adds a dynamic and engaging element elevating student engagement. Keynote's shapes and animate functions are intuitive. They allow the concepts of lesson to remain at the forefront and keep the technology in the role of vehicle.

What was the impact on the classroom?

The most notable difference was the excitement in the classroom and the amount of discussion of the concepts I heard compared to previous years. Further, the keynote skills will remain with them and applicable to presentation based assignments across their schedule.

What a simple but powerful and effective shift in this lesson! Showing that movement through gifs is a great way to up-level your lesson.
