Helping our younger learners care for the iPads

Teaching our younger learners how to care for their iPad is so important. We need to instill good habits in them right from the moment they begin working with digital devices.

This helps them develop responsibility and respect for their belongings.

Aside from being great role models we also need to be mindful of the direct instruction we can give to them.

Having something visual can be helpful.

Here’s a poster that you can use to help your students think about caring for their iPad. They can use their hand to help them think about the word ‘CARE’ and then reflect on each action for the letters.

You could also follow it up with an activity asking your students to write their own statements on a copy of their hand. Our very young learners could draw themselves in the hand showing how they care for the iPads they use.

Reinforcing positive behaviours around caring for ipads helps keep everyone sane. 😊
