Procedural Writing- Winter Activities

Let's make a step-by-step video about a winter activity using Clips on your iPad!

Instructions:

1.Pick a Winter Activity: Choose something fun to do in winter! It could be building a snowman, decorating a tree, or baking cookies with your family.

2.Write Down Steps: Think of six steps to do your chosen activity. Write them in order, like a story.

Example: Making a snow man

  • Step 1. Collect snow and pack it up into a small ball in your hands.
  • Step 2. Place the snow ball in the snow and start to roll it until you see it growing bigger.
  • Step 3. Once the ball is large enough to be the base of your snow man, find the right spot for it to sit.
  • ect.

3.Create Your Clips Video: Here's how to make your video using Clips on your iPad:

  • Open the Clips app and start a new project.
  • First, make a title page: Write the name of your activity and draw some pictures to show what you'll do.
  • Step 1: Record a video explaining the first step clearly.
  • Use Stickers/Filters: Make your video awesome by adding stickers or funny filters.
  • Add Music (Optional): Choose music to make your video even more fun!
  • Repeat for Steps 2 to 6: Record a new video for each step and add them in order to your project.
  • Final Poster: Make an ending page saying "The End" or "All Done!" Use pictures related to your activity.
  • Edit and Make it Cool: Watch your video. Add stickers, adjust music, and make sure each step looks good. Check if your steps are easy to understand.
  • Final Touches: Put the title page at the start and the ending page at the end of your video.
  • Watch and Share: Show your video to friends or family. See if they understand your activity from the video!

Remember: Have fun making your video! Be creative with your drawings, music, and how you explain each step. It's all about sharing your cool winter activity with others!

This is such a great activity to help students grasp multi-step activities and break bigger tasks down into manageable pieces. I love that you made it multimodal. Drawing, video, music… so many opportunities for students to show their strengths!!

Such a great activity, Belen! 🙌

I love how writing and planning are such a central part of the process.

Successful video projects require students to develop great organisational and planning skills.

And, every movie has a script! ✍️ 🎥

Great job! 👏
