Back to School: Create a class “All About Us” eBook

We all know how important it is for students to not just be seen and heard, but for them to feel connected.

Here’s a fun and simple way to have your students to share their interests, passions and ideas through the creation of a class ePub or eBook by combining Pages and GarageBand.

The attached resource is a Pages document you can use to create an anthology of student profiles through which they share their passions and interests; think the class book concept and amplify it.

The resource contains ready-made templates for students to use. Watch the video tutorials which explain the steps for putting together your All About Us class eBook.

Five fast variations of the same idea might include:

  • Create an anthology of poems (with soundscapes) - see the attached example
  • A class recipe book (procedural texts)
  • A digital gallery of student artwork (complete with immersive audio explanations or musical soundtracks)
  • A collaborative narrative (students each contribute a page in small groups)
  • A digital book about important people in science or history (with audio files as examples of primary evidence)

Did you know…?

If you’re using the Self Service app in JAMF, you can upload ePubs / eBooks for students to download?

Let me know how it goes, Gabriel. Feel free to share one or two screenshots if you’re comfortable with that. Thanks for your kind feedback.
