Learn to Create Pages Interactive Workbooks (or Learning Journals!)

For the past five years and counting, Pages Interactive Workbooks have been an absolute game changer for me in my teaching journey. They've become a go-to tool for working with students, and I couldn't be more thrilled about it.

Why the excitement? Well, for me, it's not just about the tool itself, but rather what it enables students to achieve and how it transforms their learning experience. In my personal classroom as an art teacher, students used to waste precious class time navigating between different apps to receive content, create their own, and submit it. This back-and-forth can be a significant barrier to learning, especially for our youngest learners, and most vulnerable students with special needs.

So, how did Pages make a difference?

First, it's an incredibly powerful app with a wide range of features, from drawing tools to media integration, making it a one-stop-shop for student projects. No more jumping between apps means more efficient and impactful learning experiences. And when students do need to use other apps, Pages seamlessly integrates their work, keeping everything organized and accessible.

Second, Pages is perfect for both distributing and receiving content from students. They can take their work anywhere on their iPad and compile it into one organized workbook, showcasing their learning journey effortlessly. Whether it's for a single unit or a comprehensive learning portfolio, Pages offers endless possibilities. The only apps that even come close to its amazing functionality are its cousins Keynote, Numbers and Freeform, all FREE tools from the built-in Apple suite of apps.

Lastly, Pages promotes inclusivity by providing access to all students, regardless of their abilities, thanks to iPads' powerful accessibility features and the app being completely free. This eliminates the need for expensive apps and ensures equitable access to powerful learning tools for students of all ages. It also frees up funds previously used on other expensive apps to be better utilized to improve other facets of the student learning experience.

Given the transformative impact Pages has had in my classroom and others, I decided to write a book to help other teachers harness its potential. The book is free, and my hope is that it will inspire more educators to embrace Pages and other built-in iPad apps to revolutionize student learning.
