Class Council Election Project

Introducing the Classroom Councillor Project: Empowering Young Leaders

We're excited to launch our Classroom Councillor project, a fresh initiative designed to instill leadership qualities and civic responsibility in Year 4 students. In this innovative project, students will engage directly in the democratic process by electing a peer to the position of Classroom Councillor. This role isn't just ceremonial; our Classroom Councillor will have genuine responsibilities, including voicing classmates' ideas, leading the charge on a class-selected non-academic change, conducting monthly class meetings, and recognizing peers for outstanding contributions like the 'Worker of the Week.'

This hands-on approach aims to foster a sense of community, encourage positive behavior, and develop leadership skills in a supportive environment. We believe that by giving students a real stake in how their class operates, we can cultivate a generation of thoughtful, proactive citizens. Follow along as we embark on this journey to empower our students to make a difference in their world, starting with their classroom.

Super way to involve students as well as to introduce participatory civic practice. Thanks for the post!
