Hispanic Heritage + Keynote + Abstract Art = Creativity in EVERY classroom.

Connect to cultures around the world through art. Beatrix Milhazes is a favorite contemporary artist of mine. Brazilian born, her work is infused with vibrant colors across a field of both geometric and organic shapes; many filled with pattern. Her process includes layering of shapes upon each other on large canvases.

Colorful abstract art

In this creative challenge students will use Keynotes shapes to create an abstract artwork. This is appropriate for all ages and way to boost creative confidence while experiencing the importance of the element SHAPE is any art work. Create and export as an image, or extend the challenge to add animation.

PROCESS:

While connecting to cultures this can also connect to a variety of disciplines, math, science and music seem obvious. I am sure with the creativity of you and your students this challenge could yield a variety of outcomes. Please share how this inspired you.

Beautiful art and fantastic lesson to connect to Hispanic Heritage Month and a Hispanic artist all year around. Shapes in Keynote is such an easy tool to use and allows for flexibility and creativity. Thank Laurie for this idea!
