Character Social Media Profile

Bring Characters to Life: A Fun Social Media Project for 4th and 5th Graders!

4th and 5th graders have an incredible knack for diving deep into the stories they read. They analyze characters' decisions, explore the ripple effects of those choices, and uncover the layers that make these fictional personalities so fascinating. But how do we take those critical thinking skills to the next level? By blending them with something these students already love: 📱 social media!

Enter our Character Instagram Project! Students stepped into their characters' shoes (or boots, or glass slippers!) and created pretend Instagram profiles for them. They decided what their characters would post, crafted captions in their voices, and even imagined how other story characters would comment.

The results? Pure magic. Watching their creativity unfold as they shared posts and comments that captured each character’s personality was such a joy. Not only did this activity help them think about their stories in a fresh, engaging way—it also brought their learning to life in a way they’ll never forget.

Want to try this with your students? I’ve attached a linked Keynote template below. Feel free to download it and let the fun begin!

Very cool template. Thank you! Really inspires learners to think about their character and analyze their personalities.
