Geography Travel Blog - 51st State

This interactive travel blog template invites students to creatively design an imagined 51st state using the five themes of geography: LocationPlaceHuman-Environment InteractionMovement, and Region. Students will integrate various multimedia elements as they do this including:

  • Video to share dynamic visual storytelling.
  • Audio for narration.
  • Drawing and Shapes to illustrate maps, landmarks, and state symbols.
  • Photos to visually enhance their presentations.

This activity encourages students to develop geographic thinking, creativity, and technology skills, making it an engaging addition to the classroom.

I've attached the template for you to use. Happy blogging!

This is a travel blog template modeled off a website page with a spot for pictures and text.

Outside of the box thinking! I bet there is lots of creativity and fun in this lesson. Who wouldn't want to design their own State - very cool!

This idea has me wishing I taught geography instead of math (and I have definitely NEVER thought that in my life)! I love how this project uses all of the different tools in Keynote.
