The Power of Poetry

In this unit, students focused on developing their understanding of poetry by:

  • Developing note-taking skills
  • Analysing poetry through annotation
  • Creating poetry through creative app choices

The idea of the unit was to allow for staff to be creative and flexible in their approach to encourage creativity across the classes.  

Students worked through Keynote templated created to encourage both handwritten and digital responses.  The Keynote templates were set to focus on different aspects of the inquiry process:

  • The Shape of Poetry
  • The Language of Poetry
  • The Stories of Poetry
  • Creating Poetry
