All About Me on Pages – First Week of School Activity (Elementry)

Made with Pages on iPad

This fun activity is a great way for students to share about themselves, make new friends, and explore the Pages app. Students will take selfies, record their voices, and answer simple questions using text, shapes, and drawings. By the end, everyone will have their own colorful All About Me page!

🎯 What We’re Aiming For

  • Help students feel comfortable sharing who they are.
  • Learn how to use fun features in Pages (shapes, text, image gallery, audio, drawing).
  • Encourage teamwork and buddy connections through selfies and sharing.

🛠 How to Build the Template in Pages

1. Pick a Background 🎨

  • Tap ➕ → Shapes.
  • Choose a big rectangle (or any fun shape you like).
  • Stretch it across the page. This is your background canvas.

2. Add Fun Blocks for Questions 🧩

  • Tap ➕ → Shapes.
  • Add different shapes for each question or prompt (circles, stars, rectangles).
  • Each block will hold one idea about “me.”

3. Make Space for Selfies 📸

  • Tap ➕ → Media → Image Gallery.
  • Add one for your selfie and another for a buddy selfie.

4. Record Your Voice 🎤

  • Tap ➕ → Record Audio.
  • “Hi, my name is…”
  • “Something I like is…”
  • Students can press record and say a few sentences:

5. Add Some Words ✍️

  • Tap ➕ → Text.
  • My Name
  • My Favorite Food
  • My Dream
  • Place text boxes for easy questions like:

6. Add a Drawing Area 🎨

  • Use the pen tool ✏️ to draw a self-portrait, favorite place, or anything creative.

👩‍🏫 In the Classroom

  • 10 minutes: Quick intro to the icons students will use.
  • 30 minutes: Students create their own All About Me pages.
  • End with a share-and-smile session where buddies present each other’s work.

💡 Why Students Love This

  • They get to express themselves in many ways—writing, drawing, photos, and voice.
  • They feel proud sharing their work with friends.
  • It’s a gentle and exciting way to start using Pages.
