Augmented Reality can be described as a digital layer over the analog world. It has a wide variety of applications in the classroom. AR allows students to leverage a digital approach to learning that is visual, tangible and self directed. It has high levels of engagement and allows students to personalise learning and take ownership of the project.
The AR Lifecycle of a Frog combines a printed poster, with interactive Augmented Reality overlays. Students will create a poster in Pages with images for each part of the lifecycle, organise the images in Files then record a script in GarageBand. Then put all the elements together in Reality Composer.
Please see the example below.

- Create a poster in Pages outlining the Frog Lifecycle including an image and script for each stage plus the target image. (see example attached)
- Take full length photo of the student.
- Create a folder in Files name 'AR Frog Life Cycle' to contain the images and sound files.
- Save the images to the Files folder.
- Record each part of the script in GarageBand and save to the Files folder.
- Assemble the project in Reality Composer.
The project is also supported by a YouTube tutorial outlining each step of the project workflow.
