The presentation is designed for 5–6-year-old preschool children, under the theme Living Things, with a lesson duration of approximately 60 minutes. It follows the 5E instructional model and uses multimedia and Apple technology to make the lesson more interactive.
The lesson begins with Engage, where children participate in a mystery sunflower growth trail and follow clues around the playground. During Explore, children work in small groups using an iPad to arrange pictures of the sunflower growth stages in the correct sequence. In Explain, children identify and discuss the stages—Seed, Germination, Seedling, Growing Plant, and Flowering—while the teacher uses guiding questions to strengthen their understanding.
During Elaborate, the activity “I Am a Sunflower Seed!” allows children to use body movements and role-play to demonstrate how a seed gradually grows into a sunflower. Finally, Evaluate uses a Sunflower Growth Wheel to assess children's ability to recognise and sequence the stages of plant growth.
