As AI tools are becoming more prominent in the workforce, this teaching kit explores how different models handle similar tasks. With an emphasis on human-centered design, machine learning automation, and real-world scenarios, participants will investigate how AI augments human work and devise reccommendations about ethical AI decision-making.
What you'll need
- iPad or Macbook
- Apple Intellegence on-device model
- Claude.ai
- ChatGPT
- Gemini
What the toolkit covers
- Pre-Built Lesson Plan: ready-to-run, 60-minute workforce activity focused on responsible AI automation.
- Real-World AI Scenarios: Explore the biases and limitations of AI in accessibility, visual search, product discovery, and customer support.
- Human-in-the-Loop Design Framework: Evaluate what AI can automate, where it can augment human work, and where human judgement needs to remain central.
How it works
- Explore: Compare AI-assisted writing with generating a response from scratch.
- Test: Run the same task across different AI tools, progressively adding constraints and real-world context to see how the outputs change
- Evaluate: Test edge cases, identify limitations, and consider what could happen if AI gets it wrong.
- Reccomend: Use evidence from testing to decide where AI is appropriate and where human oversight is needed.
Designed for Real-World Learning
- Judgement-First: Focuses on evaluating the perfomance of AI models, not just learning how to use them.
- Hands-On: Learners directly test and compare AI systems.
- Adaptable: Scenarios can be swapped to reflect different workplaces, communities, or learner interests.
Discussion
- When AI gives you something that looks right, how do you know if it actually is?
- What would need to be true for an AI tool to handle a task without human review?
- Are you spending more time evaluating and revising AI output than you would doing the task yourself?
