Making short movies in clips

I had my EL Chem students demonstrate their knowledge post-lab by making a 20-30 second movie using CLIPS. We walked them through the process step by step as it was their first time. It was empowering for them to create an entire product in about 20 minutes and also to use features such as animated stickers to make it look like things that influencer videos make. The voice to text caption feature is incredible and helpful for students to master their enunciation.

Wonderful use of Clips as an assessment tool. I bet the learners enjoyed it too!

Thanks for sharing! I think your shoutout of it only taking about 20 minutes is huge! I think sometimes we fear creativity for the amount of time it will take. However, short and simple activities like this can be so powerful!

It would be great to see an example that your students created! Would you be willing to share one here?

I'm curious to hear how students' thinking was more clearly articulated (or not) through their post-lab videos versus through a more traditional post-lab writing activity. Any chance you'd be will to share more about that?
