Twenty-one years into teaching in #D214, I've been spending a crazy amount of time looking for and creating materials. Whether in my EL or regular social science classes, there is a huge range of reading abilities, so I'm always searching for or writing the best possible text. No more!! As I'm finishing up my first Apple coaching cycle, I cannot believe I had a solution on the iPad all along! I've been a solid user of Notability, but now I'll have students move their texts and activities into Files so that they can access the language and literacy tools. They can get definitions by tapping, have the text read out loud at the appropriate speed, and get text translated into various languages. Amen! Now all students can get whatever help they need with reading. I'll be sharing this with my colleagues at Rolling Meadows High School.
