RochTV A Growing Story

In the final third of my teaching career I was asked by my school district to start a media stream in their newest regional school of the arts. The joy of this "ask" was immeasurable as it allowed me to take all my knowledge and experience and apply it to an entire program. Being provided with all the support and resources made the whole development process a dream. The start of this program was also the focus of my Apple Distinguished Educator application in 2010.

Since the focus of the program I developed was to culminate in a grade 12 film course and grade 12 creative advertising course we had many artifacts of student learning as a result. One student decided to highlight our program in a short documentary for the grade 12 film course. This broke my long standing rule that "I" can never be filmed because it would potentially take my time away from other students. The following is the documentary she produced and it describes our program.
