The highlight of my day so far has been sharing the ability to use Split Screen for music transcription. 😎
One of my composition students wanted to transcribe a small portion of an improvised guitar solo from a song so that he could use a portion of it in a clarinet solo. We used the free edition of the Capo app to slow the performance down to 50% without affecting the pitch and also used his notation app of choice, Flat.io, to enter the notation. The ability to split the screen with simultaneously accessing both apps made the task so much more simple.
"Back in the day," (as they say) I spent hours at the piano 🎹 continuously rewinding cassettes 📻 to play and replay music for transcription without the ability to slow the performance. Transcription was done with paper and pencil, an artifact that was easily lost. Yikes!
This is just another huge way that iPad has transformed life as a music major! 🙏🏼🤩

Hooray for split screen! So true, it has saved me so much time on other tasks. Thanks for sharing and showing how it can be helpful in music transcription!
