Edit recordings.

When you record music, vocals, or sound effects in GarageBand, a graphical representation of your recording — called a region — appears in one of the tracks in Tracks view. You can trim, split, and arrange regions to build songs and other audio projects.

Apply it.

  • Edit and enhance a recorded interview for added impact. Split the recording into multiple regions and balance volumes between voices before applying audio presets for a desired effect.

  • Add transitions between sections of a recorded lecture. Split the region into shorter segments and add Apple Loops to indicate the start and end of each topic.

Go further.

You can make a single track quieter or louder for just a section of your project. Use automation points to dynamically shift the volume of each region as it plays to add fades and other volume adjustments.
