Apple Loops are short recordings of drumbeats, bass lines, rhythm instruments, or sound effects. Use Apple Loops to quickly build a simple musical composition for a class project — no need to know how to read music or play an instrument.
Open the Loop Browser. From Tracks view in an existing project, tap Loop Browser button. Tap Apple Loops, then tap a loop to preview it.
Find loops using keywords. Tap Instruments, Genres, or Descriptors to find loops that match specific criteria.
Mark loops as favorites. Tap Favorite button next to loops you like. Tap Favorite button near the upper‑right of the Loop Browser to quickly access your favorite loops.
Add a loop to the project. Drag a loop from the results list to an empty part of the Tracks view screen. The loop becomes a region on a new track.
Trim or move a region. Tap the region to select it, drag the handles on either side to change its length, or drag the region to where you want it to play in your project.
Save your song. Tap My Songs button to exit Tracks view and return to the My Songs browser.
Build a collection of loops for audio projects that support a learning topic. Search for loops using descriptors such as “Cheerful” for a field trip theme song or “Intense” for an audio documentary.
Enhance a recording of a famous quote or favorite poem with Apple Loops. Combine loops from Toy Box to add emphasis to specific words.
Get more Apple Loops by downloading free sound packs from the Sound Library. For example, you can add fun, educational sound effects to your projects using the Toy Box collection.
