Integrating Numbers and Clips

Where it began:

Students were given the opportunity to create a passion project, a business or charity project that they were personally passionate about.

How it grew: After a coaching cycle this idea was scaled down to a business or charity project they could create within the high school. Students utilized numbers to create a brainstorming graphic organizer to think about all of the elements that would need to happen or be researched in order for this business or project to happen. Once the brainstorming was completed students created a chart breaking down all of the costs that would be incurred creating their business. This cost idea was broken down to the smallest monetary amount. We were able to use Apple classroom to deliver the information and check in on student work.

Impact on Student Learning: Students got very excited about this project and the ability to create a plan for something that they were personally excited about! It was so awesome to watch ideas blossom and for students to truly be invested in what we were working on and creating! Students had the ability to not only think of necessity and cost in this project but also think of a way to market this idea to their peers utilizing clips, and creating a ‘Tik tok’ format for a video. It was awesome to watch the ideas come together.

I love that you have combined use of both of these powerful apps into one assignment. Now that students have developed these skills, it will be a quicker process to scaffold them into a future assignment.

I also love using Numbers for project/assignment management. Congratulations to you and your students! 👍🏼
