All About Eyes

Students had been learning about the systems of the body in science class. They watched a video about how the owl’s body parts work together to capture their prey. Throughout the unit, students learned about how body parts work together, with emphasis on the eye. Students completed readings and experiments about the parts of the eye and how they work together to send messages to the brain.

To culminate, students took pictures of their own eye and shared them with me via SchoolWork app. I put all the pictures into a file and numbered them. Students looked at the numbered list and voted on them using Microsoft Forms.

To extend the learning, students had a guest speaker who brought in cow eyes to dissect. Students used their iPads to take pictures of the dissected eyes and labeled them using the MarkUp tool.
