Main idea and details

In one of my groups, we were talking about main idea and details in a story. In groups of 4 or 5, they got a list of details and had to decide what the main idea was. They then had to make a story based off their main idea and supporting details. After I checked and approved their story, they made a claymation with stop motion to bring their stories to life. I then screen shared their stories on the tv so the whole class could see. After watching the stories, the class had to guess what the main idea was.

This was a fun and engaging activity that the students really enjoyed and learned from!
