Organizing Professional Learning with Freeform

Throughout the year, school's leadership teams provide embedded professional learning and different initiatives for school improvement. Using Freeform makes it easy to provide reference to content, digital collaboration and artifact tracking. We created one board for all staff to access and collaborate within so we only needed to share one board to watch us learn and grow throughout the year. They were encouraged to make it a favorite for easy access.

Using Scenes for Navigation - To make it easy for staff to move between ideas, especially as the Freefor builds, using scenes makes it easy. The topic board title and scene title are the same for consistency. Dates can be added and scene images can be updated.

Digital Gallery Walk - As professional learning ideas are introduced, we create a topic board. A colorful rectangle with a title text. We create a main topic board for the initiative that shares content, files and reference material. Afterwords, with all the amazing features of Apple, staff can easily drop in post-its, shapes, files, pictures and more as they share artifacts of their implementation.

PLCs can than easily get a pulse of what's going on in other rooms, idea share and build on ideas. As the year passes, more topic boards are added vertically to see how the ideas improve or change over time.

Green and magenta rectangles show different topics on the Freeform board.

Freefrom makes it easy to introduce, track and reflect on the professional learning with staff big or small.

Smart idea Melissa! Schools frequently have multiple initiatives, some that come and go. You’ve shown how one place - a Freeform board - keeps everything accounted for. Like it!
