Let's save the sea turtles! Kindergarten 3 students at the Simón Bolívar School in Tepic, Nayarit, created promotional items using iPads and the Freeform app.
As an Apple Teacher, I facilitated this activity by guiding students in using the Freeform app and fostering their creativity through the creation of keychains.
Kindergarten 3A students used iPads and the Freeform app to draw ways we can help sea turtles, utilizing the app's tools—such as animal sketching features.
Through this activity, the students achieved the following:
Used digital media to expand their vocabulary and learn new words.
Expressed and promoted ideas for presentation across different applications.
Developed skills such as:
Digital creativity, by learning to design using the new Freeform app.
Digital literacy, by becoming familiar with the application and iPad controls.
The final product demonstrates how technology can be used in daily life to help students expand their knowledge—for instance, by practicing with the app's tools—and how they can raise awareness about life on our planet and learn how to protect it through technology.
