Pixel Art Pumpkins with Pages

October is always a fun time of year with so many Halloween-themed activities - like pumpkin carving, but then there's the cleanup! Why not try a digital Jack O’Lantern activity that blends creativity and iPad, but without the mess.

I always loved seeing what students would create and how elaborate their scenes would become. And I also loved how this project uses Pages on iPad from start to finish.

Students being by designing their Jack O'Lantern using the Drawing Tools.

Then recreate their design in a Pixel Art style using Conditional Formatting (still in Pages).

And they finish it off with a frame of their choice before sharing with family and friends!

You can download your copy of the workbook here.

I can’t wait to see what your students create!

Love it, Erika! I was just putting together an email for my teachers with all the digital pumpkin activities and Eoin reminded me that this was where your post was! Thank you for sharing! I will also look at Martin's that Cheryl mentioned! Digital tricks and treats are always a hit! 🎃
