Choose Your Own Adventure Books

Creating Choose Your Own Adventure books in Pages and Keynote has been a fun and exciting way for my ELL early learners to practice language and literacy skills. I can easily link objects or images on a page to other pages throughout the book to create a "Choose your own Adventure" format. Students listen to or read the story on each page then touch an image to proceed or go back and try again. After completing the adventure book students write about events from the story to practice pencil to paper foundational skills. I have shared an example of an adventure taken by our class mascot, "Mr. Buzzy" that supported us in learning CVC words. As well as a Keynote book where students take Mrs. Gardner on an adventure then write about where she went first, next, then and last.

Oh my gosh! Love Mrs. Gardners Adventure! What a fun learning activity. Also Mr. Buzzy is so cute and creative. The students must enjoy them both and gain skills at the same time!
