Alongside Farez Najid, a local actor and game master, we wanted to create a template of an experience that educators can use as an activity frame that engages with media that is relevant to students, activities that deepen the learning, all while packaged in an engaging and immersive story.
Introducing... Surviving the Apocalypse!
Attached you will see two resources:
- The Story Journal is meant for the educator, facilitating the activities.
- The Survivor Journal is meant for students to use for the various activities.
In this version, there are three activities as examples:
- Act 1: A resource management activity that requires participants to apply their critical thinking, collaboration, and time management skills.
- Act 2: Planning a journey across locations that will force them to creatively problem-solve, apply their maths and geography knowledge.
- Act 3: Practising communication through sending an important message that matters.
