A friction investigation aimed at Year 7 students using Sphero's. Students used the template attached to plan and conduct their investigation, and present their findings in the form of a Clips video. The video needed to include footage of their investigation, hypothesis, variables, graph, and discussion of their results, as well as a scientific diagram to explain their results at a molecular level (see rubrics in the resource). Sketches were used to graph results and draw in-depth diagrams. Students used the screen and voice recording feature of Sketches to explain their diagram and added this to their Clips.
This task required students to use their Science inquiry skills to plan and conduct an investigation, and present and discuss their findings to demonstrate the depth of understanding of friction and forces.
Note: this resources was published a few years ago, however, since moving schools, its no longer accessible in the community.
