Thanks a lot! Yes, the subtraction tool works with it (doesn’t need the latest update).
If you a shape from Shapes Library, you can subtract this from the pumpkin.
Select both the shape you want to subtract and the pumpkin itself.
But, you can’t subtract shapes you have drawn with the Drawing tools in Keynote.
Hopefully the attached screenshot helps a bit!
