Discovery Ready-Made Student Projects with iPad

The Apple Education Community is a great place to find ready-made student projects that liven up lessons and spark creativity in every learner.

In our Apple Professional Learning Live session, we discovered simple activities, engaging lesson ideas, and helpful templates that can save you and your colleagues time and bring creativity to your classrooms.

Here’s a recap on each of the experiences and some resources for you to take your learning further.

Animate your Passion with Keynote

Discover some things that your students love by creating a fun animated GIF in Keynote! Using the Camera , Image Playground or Safari to find places, people or things that are meaningful to them. Use the Animate Your Passions downloadable template by inserting images inside the heart shape on each slide. Then simply export the project as an animated GIF. Go further by integrating this activity across other curriculum areas—adapt it for maths by sorting and counting, explore favourite places around the school, highlight important people in the community, or create a fun storyboard.

Create Pixel Art in Numbers

Looking for a creative way to dive into Numbers? 💡

This Create Pixel Art project shows just how versatile Numbers can be—going beyond maths to support critical thinking, creativity, and art. Learners can even import a portrait photo to create fun, pixel-style self-portraits. Go further by exploring conditional formatting while designing a pixelated masterpiece.

Begin by opening the template. Then, use the key to select a color. Next, enter the corresponding number into each cell to bring your artwork to life.

Design a Simple App with Keynote

If you have an iPhone or iPad then you are very familiar with using Apps and how helpful they can be. But have you ever designed one? This project uses Keynote to guide you through all the stages to design an app that helps you to make your, or others, day better!

Each step, from the brainstorming, prototyping, evaluating and promoting stages, include a template and guiding questions, and finishes with a Project Presentation template for your students. This App Design project is also a great way to introduce students to the Everyone Can Code projects to extend them further into coding design and development.
