You can use Pages as a blank canvas to design your own page layouts from scratch. With the freedom to place elements wherever you want them, you can create a one-of-a-kind poster or flyer for an upcoming event, build a graphic organizer for your students, or design a custom template for a class book.
Create a new, blank document. Tap Create Document button from the document manager and select a Blank template from the Basic category.
Open the Document settings. Tap Action Menu button, tap Document Options, then tap Document Setup.
Convert to Page Layout. Turn off the Document Body option, then tap Convert in the dialog. This creates a freeform, blank document with no text boxes.
Change the background. Tap the page thumbnail in the left corner to select the page. Tap Format button, then tap Background and choose a color, gradient, or background image.
Add a text box. Tap Shape button. Tap Text in the Basic category. Insert your own text and customize the font, color, and style using the options under Format button.
Add photos, shapes, and additional text boxes as needed to complete your layout. Drag to reposition objects on your page.
Design a flyer to promote the creativity club at your school. Print and post flyers around campus to inspire students to join.
Support exemplary digital citizenship behaviors by creating themed posters. Choose text and images for your layout that will reinforce your message.
Once you’ve customized a layout in a Pages document, you can save it as a custom template to use in future projects or share with others. Your custom templates can be synced across all your devices using iCloud, so you can create a template on your iPad and use it on your Mac, or vice versa.
