Make your videos look and sound better using tools in iMovie to improve the color, brightness, stability, and audio quality of each clip. With a few quick adjustments, you can make great-looking movies that look more polished and professional.
Enhance a video clip. Select a clip in the timeline, then click Enhance in the adjustments bar above the viewer. Video and sound are automatically optimized.
Stabilize a shaky clip. Select a clip in the timeline, then click Stabilization in the adjustments bar to reveal the Stabilization tools. Select the Stabilize Shaky Video checkbox, then drag the slider to adjust the amount of stabilization.
Balance the color. Select a clip in the timeline, click Color Balance , then click White Balance.
Using the White Balance eyedropper, find a part of the frame that should appear white or gray, and click. Then click Apply .
Correct color and exposure. Select a clip in the timeline, then click the Color Correction button . Drag the middle slider on the control to change overall brightness. To change the contrast, use either of the half-circle sliders.
Adjust highlights and shadows. Drag the sliders on the far-left or far-right ends of the control to brighten shadows or reduce the brightness of highlights.
Adjust saturation and warmth. Drag the middle slider to increase or decrease color saturation. Drag the slider on the far right to make the video image warmer or cooler.
Fix the white balance on clips that were captured at different times of day. Use the White Balance adjustment on one clip to match the other.
Brighten a clip that was exposed darkly. Drag the gray slider in the manual color correction multislider to adjust the overall exposure of a shot.
Speed up your editing by copying and pasting adjustments from one clip to another. Apply a filter or color adjustment to one clip, then just paste the changes to any number of other selected clips in a single step.
