Making a movie in iMovie starts with selecting the video clips and photos you want to use, and then adding them to a project. By stringing together multiple clips and playing them back in sequence, you can explain a process, report on an event, or tell a story.
Create a new movie project. Tap Start New Project, then tap Movie Movie Button.
Select video clips and photos. Tap the video clips and photos you want to include in your movie, then tap Create Movie.
Add additional video clips. Tap the Add Media button Add Media button in the upper‑right corner to open the media browser. Find the clip you want to use, tap to select it, then tap Add to Project button to add it to the timeline.
Play the project. Scroll the timeline to move the playhead (the white vertical line) to the location you want to play from, then tap Play button.
Rename the project. Tap done to close the timeline, then tap the default name “My Movie” to edit it.
Share best practices with your colleagues. Combine video clips and photos of how you work with students in your learning environment.
Motivate students with highlights of work from previous students. Take photos of work samples and record video interviews with the students who made them, then add them to a new iMovie project.
You can preview video clips before adding them to the timeline. First tap a clip in the media browser, then tap the Play button that appears underneath it. You can also drag the yellow handles at the start and end of the clip to trim it before adding it.
