You can discover, save, and share learning resources on the web using Safari. Search the web, compile a list of articles you want to read, and hide distracting elements so you and your students can focus on what matters most.

Search the web. Enter your school’s name or URL in the Smart Search field, then press Return.
Open a page in a new tab. Click this link while holding down the Command key. This opens the linked news article in a new tab within the same browser window. Click the tab to view the article.
Use Safari Reader to hide ads and other distractions. Click the Safari Reader button to see a simplified version of this page.
Add the page to your Reading List. Move the pointer over the Smart Search field, then click the One-Step Add button on the left side of the field. Click the Sidebar button in the toolbar, then click Reading List to see your saved articles.
Look up a word definition. Control‑click any word on the webpage, then choose Look Up from the shortcut menu.
Add a bookmark. Click Share , Add Bookmark. Choose Favorites or any other Bookmarks folder, then click Add.
Save a webpage link to the Notes app. With a page open in Safari, click Share and choose Notes as the destination. Use the Choose Note menu to pick a new or existing note, then click Save.
Add bookmarks for your most frequently used teaching and learning websites. Organize them into folders according to the subjects you teach.
Automatically hide ads and other distracting content on supported sites. Click and hold the Reader button, then choose Use Reader Automatically.
Create unique and strong passwords for websites that require a sign-in. Passwords get stored in iCloud Keychain so you don’t have to memorize them.
