Use Photo Booth to snap a quick selfie or record a short video using the FaceTime HD camera on your Mac. Create profile pictures or have students record videos using built‑in effects that are perfect for historical reports or sci‑fi adventures.
Take a selfie. In Photo Booth, click the Photo button in the lower‑left corner of the window, then click Take Photo . After a three‑second countdown, Photo Booth snaps the picture.
Apply an effect. Click Effects, then use the arrows to browse to the second page of effects. Click Sepia for an old‑fashioned look, then click Take Photo .
Record a video. In the lower‑left corner of the Photo Booth window, click the Video button , then click Record Video . Click Stop Recording when you're finished.
Share. Select any photo or video thumbnail along the bottom of the Photo Booth window. Click Share and choose a destination.
Use your photos and videos in other apps. Click Share to choose a destination, or just drag thumbnails directly to the desktop or into other apps, such as Pages or Keynote.
Record a video introduction to a lesson or project using an effect that complements the subject of the lesson.
Create a flashcard video. Record yourself going through flashcards of sight words or math facts for an interactive movie that students can play back to practice with their teacher.
You can use Photo Booth to snap a quick selfie to use as your contact card photo in Contacts or as the profile picture for the user account on your Mac.
